Me = Shoes = A Good Thing

OK So I’m feeling better. Well, that was a lie, but I refuse to let my feeling funky get me down. Especially since I had a silly experience yesterday that I wanted to share, but somehow forgot this morning.
Yesterday I looked after a friend’s little girl while her Mommy went and after a very long wait, had in my honest opinion a horrible tattoo covered up and made into a beautiful one that suits her personality. I was happy to do this for my amiga because I think it’s important for we mothers to remember to take the time to nuture ourselves and do things for our beings that make us feel good; and besides, her daughter was no trouble at all. It was actually fun, because I’m usually surrounded by little boys, so having another female in the house, even if she is just four years old was a nice change of pace.

Our day turned out to be a fun one. The kids played together mostly, but when they got bored and needed something to do, I in my ever creative self quickly came up with a fun game and we did that for a bit, then went hunting for butterflies and tiny dragons. When I got tired (I am preggers after all) I sent them to color and I took a break to go and organize the shoes by my front door. When over comes my female companion for the day and says to me, “Ms. Nicky, you’re like a good pair of shoes.” I guess you had to be there, but it was so funny, she had me in stitches, and pretty much giggling the rest of the time she was there.

So, I’m like a good pair of shoes, a compliment I’ll happily take, because we all know the feeling of a great pair of shoes!

Here’s my idea of the perfect pair of shoes — yes technically they’re boots, but each year I live for the cold weather so I can get to rest my chilly feet in their cozy goodness!
