My favorite part of the Today show this morning was Vice President Biden’s interview with Matt Lauer. I couldn’t help but wonder why do they let our Vice President out with out a teleprompter? It seems every time he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it. I love how the beautiful Ann Curry had to later qualify his “confined spaces” statement as being what President Obama was already saying.
Now I’ve kept my political two cents at bay for about a week because frankly although I absolutely adore politics, political banter and debate I really haven’t been in the mood to write about politics.
Having said that this past week has supplied me with a few happenings about which I feel compelled to write about.
Allow me to begin with last Friday.
Last Friday I spent a great day with my boys. We were on our way to pick up my husband from work when I heard this interview on the Michael Savage Show. Michael Savage had this to say on his website:
Lord Christopher Monckton, who served as science adviser to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was invited to appear with Al Gore at a House panel hearing Friday. But House Democrats, led by Rep. Henry Waxman, canceled the appearance. Shortly after the hearing, Monckton gave his account to “The Savage Nation” and explained why Al Gore and other “alarmists” are wrong about “global warming.”
You can listen to the full interview with Lord Monckton here.
What I can’t understand is why wasn’t he allowed to speak. Listening to both sides of a story is what is supposed to happen at a hearing is it not? I mean in what sort of nation is one not allowed to hear an educated well informed opinion that perhaps goes against the main stream/government’s point of view? Would Al Gore have been humiliated? Frankly I don’t care if this gentleman has the science to back his statements up.
Climate Depot reported that Monckton has publicly challenged Al Gore to a debate on global warming. I’d like to see that! You can read Climate Depot’s article here
And now on to the $300,000 photograph that could have been achieved using photoshop for what like $900 if they did not already own the program.
What irks me about Air Force One flying over NYC is that the citizens or at the very least Mayor Bloomberg was not informed. How stupid can you get? What were the people of New York City to think when they saw a playing flying where it shouldn’t be followed by a military jet?
With stupidity on such a grand scale one has to wonder how anything gets accomplished in D.C.
As for this flu of multiple names Swine, H1N1, Mexican Flu (Israel’s name for it, not mine), and what I like to call it the Piggy Flu.
So Vice President Biden thinks we shouldn’t go into confined spaces, like subways, or air planes, yet the public is only being told to wash their hands and cough into their arms. We’re also being advised to stay home if we feel sick yada, yada, yada. What I don’t get is why the need for 1.3 billion dollars if this isn’t such a big problem? Each year 35,000 people die from regular flu in the United States how much money does that get? Perhaps it needs to get an interesting name. The swine flu is not yet considered a pandemic, and I’m not freaked out over this, not yet, or not 100% anyway. Probably because there have yet to be any confirmed cases in my state, but there are a few probable ones in Maryland last time I checked and well that’s not at all far away from me and my children who are thankfully healthy and strong, I’d like to keep it that way.
