My hus­band and I both grew up in fam­i­lies that needed lit­tle encour­age­ment to throw an impromptu party. Which is why I absolutely loved this week’s Small Talk Six meme which is to list six uncon­ven­tional things you think peo­ple should cel­e­brate by throw­ing a party. Here are mine.

1. You find your long lost BFF from first grade on face­book.
2. You win two dol­lars from your state lot­tery.
3. You’re hav­ing a really good hair day.
4. You found a really great pair of shoes on clear­ance.
5. Your sis­ter got fired from a job she hates, has been given a six month sev­er­ance pack­age and can now spend some time look­ing for a job she a.) Will hate even more. or b.) Will actu­ally love doing.
6. Who needs a rea­son to pop open a bot­tle of wine, turn up the play-list and dance?
