A mom can get a lot done dur­ing bath-time if she’s smart.

While my boys frolic in the tub, and once I’ve done the busi­ness of bathing and play­ing for a bit, I get down to my own busi­ness*.

Some of my favorite bath-time activ­i­ties include.

• Beau­ti­fy­ing — Pluck­ing, giv­ing myself a facial, floss, fil­ing my nails, etc.
• Fold­ing laun­dry. Yes, I’ve done this while sit­ting on the floor of my bath­room. I place the folded clothes into laun­dry bas­kets for each mem­ber of the family.
• Read­ing — My absolute favorite. Some­times I even read to my boys. They like that.

This evening while my boys fished in the ocean off of an island called Elk. That was my idea, Michael told me that he and his brother were fish­ing (as I flossed) and I asked him where he was fish­ing and he replied in the bath-tub.

“Bath tub..? You’re not in a bath tub, your in the ocean, and your fish­ing for trop­i­cal fish off of an island called Elk.” I said mater-of-factly and he took it an ran. I kid you not, he and Evan played for an hour while I flossed, plucked, and read the new Stephen King.

*All done in the bath­room, with in eye­sight and earshot of my boys.
