Book Review: Stephen King's "Under the Dome: A Novel"

I read the last words of Stephen King’s Under the Dome: A Novel this morning sometime after one. I was glad to be done with it-for a number of reasons-but mainly because my arms were sore from carrying it around. I was left-if possible-feeling simultanéously depressed and happy. Depressed because although this isn’t a tear jerker, it is pretty darn grim […]

Blame It On Stephen King's, "Under the Dome"

I know I’ve been MIA, (I am actually writing this from my iPhone.) I haven’t turned on my laptop since Saturday because I’ve been diligently reading Stephen King’s, Under the Dome: A Novel.  I began this behemoth of a novel last month-initially I read in short bursts because –silly me– I’d forgotten how gruesome and graphic his stories can […]

My Great Love Affair

I love books. I’ve had a love affair with them since I was a child. I’m almost always reading a book…or two. There is something about them that makes me happy. I don’t know if its the anticipation of an amazing tale, the emotions brought on by favorites, or just all those words. I love words too, in case you hadn’t guessed.

I also find it positively intriguing that no matter how many books I read, there is always something new to curl up with.

Two of my favorite places to be are bookstores and libraries. I love to run my fingers along all the bindings, reading the titles, seeing if something will pop out at me. In the past after I’d finished with a book, I’d usually pass it on to a friend who I thought would enjoy it. Now, however I want to build my collection. Yes. I am now a collector of books. Nothing fancy, just the ones I enjoy reading. If I had it my way, every available wall in my home would be covered in floor to ceiling bookcases and bursting with novels. One of the things I hope to do this year is put up some bookcases on a wall I’m keeping bare for just that purpose in my living room.

Earlier today I captured a few pictures of my beloved books.

These books are a sampling of the titles that are on my “must read next” list. I can’t wait to start Her Fearful Symmetry, by Audrey Niffenegger it sounds positively titillating!

Continue reading My Great Love Affair
